Guide to Privacy-First Event Planning
Welcome to the future of social coordination. This guide will help you get the most out of HeHe while keeping your personal life private.

Getting Started
HeHe is different from other apps. You don't need to download anything from an App Store, and you definitely don't need to create an account.
Simply visit hehe.digital in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). The app loads instantly and works offline because it's a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can even "Install" it to your home screen for a native app experience.
How Encryption Works
Most apps store your data on their servers. If their servers get hacked, your data leaks. HeHe uses a "Trust No One" architecture.
The Magic of the Hash (#)
When you create an event, we generate a secure link like this:
hehe.digital/e/123456#encryption-key
Everything after the # is the encryption key. By design, web browsers never send this part of the URL to the server. This means our servers literally never see the key to unlock your event data.
Creating Your First Event
- Choose a Type: Select a preset (Party, Dinner, Game Night) or create a custom one.
- Fill Details: Add title, date, time, and location.
- Enable Suggestions (Optional): If you're unsure about the time or place, turn on Suggestions. This lets your guests vote on the best options!
- Create: Click "Create Event". Your device will generate a cryptographic key and encrypt the data locally before syncing.
Managing RSVPs
As friends join, their RSVPs will appear in real-time. Since there are no accounts, users enter their "Display Name" for each event.
You can see who is Going, Maybe, or Not Going. Guests can also leave notes (e.g., "Bringing potato salad!") which act as a mini-chat board.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really free?
Yes! HeHe is supported by privacy-respecting ads on public pages like this one. We don't sell data.
What if I clear my browser cookies?
Since data is stored locally, clearing your browser data will wipe your events. We recommend keeping the event links saved elsewhere (like in a notes app) as a backup.
Can I use it on multiple devices?
Yes. Just open the event link on your new device. It will sync automatically via our encrypted relay.
